As I said last Sunday, 2nd Thessalonians 2 is doctrinal as Paul seeks to clear up a false doctrine that had crept into the church in Thessalonica. This false teaching was that the Day of the Lord was already here causing confusion and fear in the hearts of the Thessalonian believers. They began to believe that they had missed the Rapture and were living in the judgment of the Day of the Lord.

In life we see contrasts displayed in many ways, one of those ways is seen in opposites. For example: light compared to darkness; love compared to hate; sweet compared to sour; man compared to woman. When we compare things to one another we find the differences or the contrasts between them.
